The Full Body Approach - Explained

Updated: Mar 10, 2019

The clinicians at Joseph S Luk Physical Therapy pride themselves in helping patients with their problems. We help manage pain, improve strength, and improve flexibility so patients can get back to doing what they need to do and love to do. We have helped numerous patients minimize time away from work so they don't fall behind financially. We have helped people decrease their pain so they can get back to taking care of a loved one.

Unfortunately, there are many clinicians out there who only help decrease symptoms. Sometimes, you can get help long-term but in our experience, it tends to be a short-term improvement and the pain often returns again. The reason why is that the source of the problem was never addressed, only the symptoms. When we feel pain, it is often where the location the inflammatory response is happening but the reason for the response can be from anywhere. The hard part can be finding out where the source is because the possibilities can be endless. For example, it is common to have neck pain but also have problems in the thoracic spine driving the neck pain. Another example is knee pain that can be driven by the hip and/or ankle.

What we hope to do in the near future is help explain to you how our approach is different. We often get patients who have seen many different clinicians with no results or temporary results. By finding the source of the pain, our hope is that your results are long-term or maybe even permanent.
